Students in the Math and Science Club are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to work by building and racing their very own hovercrafts! Using science, math, and engineering principles, students are designing, testing, and improving their robots to see how well they can glide across different surfaces. This hands-on project gives students the opportunity to experiment, work as a team, and have fun while exploring STEM concepts in action.
Today is Patriot Day. We remember and honor the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001.
The first Tower was struck at 8:46 a.m. EDT. In memory, Channahon 17 will hold a collective moment of silence at 8:46am CDT, once all students are in school. All flags are at half-staff, and age appropriate lessons will be held in our schools.

Fall Musical - Any 5th grade students interested in auditioning for the fall musical, Alice in Wonderland, can now sign up for auditions. Students should email Ms. Keenon to receive the audition materials. Act fast, auditions are on Wednesday and Thursday. Ms. Keenon's email is hkeenon@csd17.org.
Cyborgs Robotics Team - Try out for the Channahon Cyborgs Robotics Team. Tryouts will be Wednesday, September 9, from 6-8 PM in the TRS commons. There are 30 spots available on the team and tryouts are open to 6th-8th graders. Sign up in the commons or with Mrs. Hodapp.

Dear CSD17 Families,
We hope this message finds you enjoying the summer season and making the most of this well-deserved time to relax and recharge. While our students have been enjoying the summer break, our buildings have been hubs of activity including student programming as well as several facility projects that will improve the learning environment for our students and staff.
As we approach August, the Channahon School District 17 Board of Education and our entire team are eagerly preparing to welcome students back for the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. We warmly welcome our newest Pre-K, Kindergarten, and transfer families to our district. We look forward to building strong partnerships with you and creating a positive, engaging experience for your child(ren) as they begin their journey in Channahon 17.
Important Information for the 2026-2027 School Year:
Registration:
Families who have not yet completed registration for the upcoming school year are encouraged to log in to their TeacherEase account as soon as possible to complete the enrollment process. New families needing assistance with registration may contact the District Office at 815-467-4315 for support.
Class Assignments:
Class assignments will be available to fully registered families beginning on Monday, August 10 through your TeacherEase account. Families that have not completed registration will not be able to access this information.
A new school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and achieve together. We are excited for all that lies ahead and are committed to ensuring every student feels welcomed, challenged, and supported. ATTENTION CSD17 FAMILIES!
We are greatful to our friends at the Channahon Park District who will be offering a new 'Before The Bell' program in Channahon 17!
Similar to the existing After The Bell program, Before the Bell will be available to Kindergarten through 4th grade families at Galloway and Pioneer Path schools. Transportation to and from N.B. Galloway School will be provided for Pioneer Path students.
The program provides consistent before school care in coordination with the school calendar and is designed to engage students in a diverse range of activities, promoting social interaction, creativity and personal growth in a welcoming and enriching environment.
Registration for this program begins today, Monday July 13th, and the program begins August 20th with the first full day of school. Due to the shortened school day, there will not be Before or After the Bell on the first official day of school, August 19th. Winter Break, Spring Break and full days off are not included.
