We had a great time with CM Rotary, MCHS Interact Club, & Village Church for another amazing backpack 'packing day'! Thousands of bags of food were packed to support children in CSD17 & D201. Thank you to these wonderful partners who do so much for our schools!

On this Patriot Day, we honor those lives lost to terrorism and ideological violence. May we as Americans boldly embody principles of resilience, courage, and love for one another every day.

Dear CSD17 Families,
We hope you’re enjoying the beautiful summer days and finding time to relax and recharge! Although our students are on break, it has been a lively and productive summer here in CSD17. Our buildings have been buzzing with Camp Invention, the Summer Learning Program, and a variety of facility improvement projects.
The District 17 Board of Education and our dedicated staff are excited to welcome students back for another year of growth and learning on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. We extend a warm welcome to our new Pre-K, Kindergarten, and transfer families joining us this fall. We are thrilled to have you as part of our community and are confident that you and your child(ren) will have an excellent experience in Channahon 17.
For 186 years, Channahon School District has proudly built a reputation as one of the top districts in Will County and across Illinois. This tradition of excellence is the result of a shared commitment between our exceptional community and our dedicated team in order to foster high expectations and a growth mindset every day. We look forward to partnering with you to continue this legacy of success throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
Important Updates for the Upcoming School Year:
Electric Transportation: In order to prioritize the safety of all students, electric modes of transportation including e-scooters, e-bikes, and similar devices, will no longer be allowed on campus. While we understand that these devices can be convenient and fun, they also pose significant safety risks at school for both the riders and those walking to and from school as they are large and move at high speeds. We have witnessed multiple instances of students struggling to maintain control or make safe choices while riding, especially in busy areas near sidewalks, intersections, and in bus zones. By prohibiting these devices on campus, we hope to reduce the chance of accidents and make arrival and dismissal times safer for everyone.
Registration: If you haven’t already completed registration for the upcoming school year, we encourage existing families to log in to your TeacherEase account as soon as possible to finalize your child(ren)’s enrollment. New families can contact our district office at 815-467-4315 for assistance with the registration process.
Classroom Assignments: Finally, classroom assignments for registered students will be available beginning Monday, August 11 via TeacherEase. Please note that families who have not completed registration will not be able to access this information.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Channahon 17. We hope you and your family enjoy the remainder of summer break!
Sincerely,
Dr. Nicholas M. Henkle, Superintendent

It was an exciting morning at Pioneer Path School as a special assistant placed HVAC units on the school! The pilot invited some special visitors to take a closer look. Even Mr. Nyalka was in awe!
A special thanks to the Channahon Police and Village of Channahon for assisting!
