PTO

At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of the parents.
Jane D. Hull
The Channahon PTO consists of parents, teachers, and staff who all have one common interest - students. We work hard to enhance the social and educational environment of each of our schools. We purchase needed items for each school, as well as provide funds for different assemblies and events throughout the year. There are many ways to become involved with the PTO, so please consider joining us for a meeting to check out the many programs that benefit our children. Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month, September through May. Also, please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or suggestions and “like” our Facebook page.
Thank you,
The Channahon PTO
Meetings on the second Monday of each month @ CJHS from 6:30pm-7:15pm
We offer free childcare at our meetings, giving your child the chance to play games, color, and have fun.
Why be active in the PTO?
Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
Tap into a Network. Parenting is not easy. It helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.
Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTO, you gain valuable experiences. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause.
Speak Up. Because the PTO is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTO can be a way for you to effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Our PTO plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events – all vital to a school’s success.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
The PTO Board is comprised of volunteers who are elected on an annual or biennial basis, with elections always held in the Spring.
