Galloway Elementary School continues to
recognize the importance of character
education. A person of character has good
ethical values that distinguish right from
wrong and a strong commitment to do what is
right even when it is inconvenient,
uncomfortable, or personally costly.
Character, in short, is moral strength.
Good
character does not develop spontaneously.
Rather, it is the result of conscientious
efforts to instill and reinforce ethical
values in a way that makes them second nature.
Knowing this,
we have been striving to teach, enforce,
advocate and model good character to all
students and developing partnerships with
families and the community. The last Thursday
note of every month will continue to include a
section entitled "Partnering Up With
Parents" this keeps parents aware of what
we are focusing on in our character education
program and gives parents ideas of how to
reinforce at home what students learned at
school.
